Officer and EMS Personnel Honored for Meritorious Act

Difficult day for all. Thank you to our EMS crews and our Police & Fire dept members, without you we could not do what we do. Honored were: Brian Breithaupt, Tracy Steyer, Chad Cole and Matt Cutler.

On December 12, 2024, Saugerties Police Officer Matthew Cutler was present with a challenge coin by Diaz Ambulance manager, Paramedic Lisa Benjamin for acts he took in an attempt to save a man involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on Nelson Hoff Road, Tuesday December 3, 2024.   The challenge coin was gifted by Dr. James Feeney of the Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, acknowledging the officer’s efforts in going above and beyond the call of duty. Diaz Ambulance Paramedics Tracey Styer [pictured] and Brian Breithaupt were also presented with challenge coins by Dr. Feeney for their commendable acts in  attempting to save the individual.
